Iowa-Alabama Gulf Coast Snowbirds Club Home Page

Welcome to the Iowa-Alabama Gulf Coast Snowbirds Club web site. Our hope is that these pages will make your stay more pleasant and organized while you are visiting the Gulf Coast area during January and February. This club is open to anyone whom is or has been from Iowa.

Members:  this should be the last email you receive concerning Iowa Snowbird Club activities in 2024.

Thanks to SO MANY people who contributed to a successful year for our Club: the diligent Board of Directors handling countless tasks behind the scenes, generous donors contributing over $3,000 in door prizes,  the Caribe/staff providing space for the two Socials and staff at GT's on the Bay providing the four buffet breakfasts.   And, from my personal perspective, appreciation for the grace of countless Club Members interacting with the "newbie" Club President.

The Club has a long-standing practice of contributing "net-proceeds" from Club activities to Gulf Coast area charities, nonprofits, and public safety entities.   Iowa Club Board members, after our last Breakfast, approved donations to:

·        $1,000        Christian Service Center (Connie White, pictured below, presenting this check)

·        $250           Alabama Coastal Foundation/Save the Beach (Turtles)

·        $250           Camp Dixie

·        $250           Mary’s Shelter Gulf Coast

·        $250           City Orange Beach (refurbish a trail bench the Club donated in 2010)

Additionally, a  previous email reflected $5,400 given (through the Calendar Draw sponsored by several state snowbird clubs) to Fort Morgan, Gulf Shores, and Orange Beach Fire Departments.

Finally, we NEED your input on 2024 Club activities and how we may improve what and how we do things in 2025/thereafter.  PLEASE , click on the link, below, to respond to a short survey soliciting your feedback.
