If this is the first time you are playing golf with the Iowa Snowbirds it is important that you read the format we follow. Our golfing program is based on computer tech knowledge for the most part in that you participate in the golf program by the following: Basically we have three categories that are involved in formulating each golf outing. They are as follows:
1. LISTING SHEET shows the golf courses we are scheduled to play;
2. SIGN -Up SHEET
3. 0UTING SHEET which is listed by numbers- like one through fifteen etc.
LISTING SHEET are the Golf Courses we will play, the time and date we play; number of golfers that have been booked; and the cost for the golf per round.
SIGN UP SHEET provides us with the number of golfers that will be participating in various golf outing and whom they will be playing with.
OUTING SHEET is the information sheet for the golf outing which is sent to the golf course 48 hours prior to the golf outing.
Now let me explain in a little more detail the format for the golf. First of all one must understand that we schedule the golf outings one year in advance of the season. The number of tee times we reserve is based on past experience regarding the number of players. Many times we have to adjust the numbers with the various golf courses after reviewing the SIGN-UP SHEET. The SIGN UP SHEET IS THE GOLF COORDINATORS INFORMATION SHEET.
THE OUTING SHEET is the actual golf sheet for playing golf. We generally have 12 to 16 outings scheduled. In the past we will have two to four outings cancelled due to rain or too cold to play. ONLY THREE OUTING SHEETS are posted weekly and that is done in sequence as 1 and 2; 3 and 4 etc. The reason for this method is that changes occur and by not going too far in advance fewer changes happen.
On the OUTING SHEET pick your time and list the three or four players and GROUP LEADER. It is really important that you list a telephone number or email address so you can be reached if changes occur. To protect your privacy all emails will be erased at a later date in January. Singles and doubles sign up below on the sheet and the golf coordinators will place you in a group of golfers.

On the bottom of the last page of the web site one finds prizes and suggestions. If you think you have won a prize click on prize. Sometimes it takes a couple of days before we get the information from the golf Pro’s as to whom the winners are. Also there is a box for suggestions and please state them if you think we can improve on something we are not doing correctly.
